Context & Challenge :
Buy Best Electronic is a mid-sized electronics company transitioning from a physical store to a scalable online business. When I joined, there was no existing design system or unified interface across web and mobile, while multiple stakeholders (IT, sales, marketing) had different and sometimes conflicting needs.
Role & Collaboration :
I worked as the sole UI designer within a cross-functional team, collaborating closely with backend and frontend developers, sales, marketing, and management. Through regular workshops and whiteboard sessions, I translated business requirements and real-world sales insights into practical interface solutions.
Design System & UI Solutions :
I created a lightweight design system from scratch, defining typography, spacing, color tokens (primary, neutral, success, error), and reusable components for both desktop and mobile. I designed key interfaces, including product cards, a hierarchical mega-menu, product pages, blog layouts, and custom ordering pages, balancing business demands with usability and technical feasibility.
Outcome & Impact :
The redesigned website supported growing online sales and helped the company successfully compete with its long-established physical store. The shared design system improved consistency, sped up frontend implementation, and enabled the team to iterate faster as business needs evolved.
